Explore the Neighbourhoods Art Trail through Ettalong

Ettalong will come to life throughout April showcasing original art produced by local artists to stimulate conversations and connection.

The ‘Neighbourhoods Art Trail’ through Ettalong incorporates four creative initiatives – Changing Faces, Aquaculture, Coasting, and Here and Now. The immersive event gives locals and guests to the Peninsula area of the Central Coast a chance to explore original artworks on exhibition in popular venues and shopfronts throughout the town centre.

The series of works commissioned from Central Coast makers & creators showcases a charmingly creative response to the recent global pandemic, focusing on connection and belonging despite a disconnected world. This is your invitation to experience local art, come together and (re)connect with one another.

The Aquaculture Art project invites you to explore the diverse ways local creatives have interpreted our unique and delicate local landscape and our relationship to it.

Central Coast creatives have worked with the community to explore their aspirations and inspirations in relation to their local environment and our impact on it. Ettalong and the surrounding Peninsula is defined by its coastline and environment. It’s beaches, lagoons and waterways and the surrounding Brisbane Waters National Park play a significant role in the wellbeing of its locals and attracts guests from outside the region due to this natural beauty.

Ettalong Here & Now attempts to capture the hidden beauty and moments of stillness in the streets of this coastal town, located on the land of the Darkinjung people. From the fibro shacks of yesteryear to the creeping overgrowth of topiary, this visual essay pays quiet observance to place and a neighbourhood in a state of slow but ever-growing change.
